this morning
Had a quick wander around the North Laine this morning and restocked my supply of paper for lino-prints (plus a quick nosey round Dave’s Comics). Wondering where would be best to advertise for life models in Brighton. Any ideas, Tumblr?

Anonymous asked: Hi - I see you do a lot of life-drawing and I was thinking about getting some work as an artist's model - do I need to have any experience or can anyone do it? Are you looking for models (I'm in Chicago). Hope you can help!

Art goodies!
My print-drying rack and roller arrived from the art shop today, so I’m going to doing some more print-making this weekend (lino prints again, probably). :) I actually want to do some more photography - keep getting some good ideas, but haven’t got anything together yet (models, props etc.).

She got red eyes, She wear dust
Back in Brighton after a few days in Leeds at the Sisters of Mercy’s two 30th anniversary gigs (Wednesday & Thursday nights). Opening song on 2nd night - Kiss the Carpet - absolute classic. Anyhow, back to making artwork now after a week of drinking and partying. There might be a call for volunteers in the Sussex area soon (to model for artwork, not for drinking & partying!).

Next art project...
While I’m still working on the Book of the Erinyes I’ve already started thinking about the next piece of artwork. I’m torn between following the Greek Mythology arc (maybe something based around Maenads/Bacchae?) or swapping to something even further back into the dawn of history (I’m particularly drawn by ancient Sumerian myths around Inanna & Ereshkigal). ...

Station Ident
It’s that time again: time to remind myself - oh, and you - who the hell I am. I’m Paul Watson, an artist based in Brighton, UK. I work in various media - collage & assemblage, photography, drawing, book arts, and printmaking (letterpress & lino). You can see all my artwork on my website. Offers to buy artwork, to send me huge amounts of money as acts of philanthropy, or to...

A beautiful book →
Wandered into Brighton today and treated myself to a copy of Marian Bantje’s book “I Wonder”. I haven’t started reading it yet - I’ve been too engrossed by the book as an object: gilt-edge pages, a highly decorative cover picked out in shining gold and silver inks, beautiful typography, beautiful graphic design. Wow.
